Joshua Tree National Park, Forty Nine Palms Oasis

There's several oasis in the park. They all sit on faults lines where the water percolates up through the faults to create the oasis.

(I decided I better research my info about which fault this oasis is on. Evidently my memory is going. Not only does this oasis not sit on the actual San Andreas fault, like I'd said earlier, but it's not called Twenty Nine Palms Oasis! It's FORTY Nine Palms. Confusing since it's near the town of Twenty Nine Palms. Doh! Going back to edit all my posts now.)
