Yucca leaves. They do indeed hurt if you run into them.

Posting will be sporadic for a while. I've got photos, but no time to select and post process.

In camera news, I found a little Olympus XA2, a film point and shoot with a reportedly great lens, with it's A11 flash at a thrift store. I'd been wanting one of the XAs, although I'd prefer the plain XA with it's rangefinder focusing and manual aperture control capabilities, but I was excited to see the XA2 for cheap! It appears to work and I'll be testing it as soon as I get a bit of time.

Also, it's the time of year I start making a list of all the cameras I want for Christmas. The list is particularly long this year since I can't decide what I really want to be working with. I guess I want to do everything! My list ranges from toy cameras to the Polaroid SX-70 (or 680 or 600 SE) to the Canon Rebel XT digital SLR, with a few 70's rangefinders thrown in for good measure. All I can say is, my poor husband! He's been trying to pin me down on my favorite choices which has prompted me to research digital SLRs more in an attempt to decide if I really want to upgrade to one right now. One minute I'm excited at the prospect and the next I'm convinced I wouldn't use it due to my distaste of lugging heavy and bulky equipment around. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it.
